Meet The Team – Abbey – Founder

By Seven Summers

Stop waiting for the right time, time isn't waiting for you

Where do we even being?

Abbey is the Chief Strategist and heart behind Seven Summers.

She’s the gal you want to lead you…. into battle, to the nearest cookie shop, and through this whole business (and life) journey. She has an uncanny talent to make others feel like they belong and are worthy of love and help. It’s easy to see that Abbey’s life journey is to be a mom, wife, friend, and MENTOR. She is the real deal. She lets others see the heartache along with the success. We’re so grateful to know her and get to work with her. Oh and she has a weird obsession with eating Asparagus.

World….meet Abbey!

Name three (or more) things that you love that don’t include anything to do with your family?
Chips Ahoy Cookies, anything Disney, Paper Mate pens, British TV, the chiropractor, and pebble ice

Where is your happy place?
My backyard, Bear Lake, laughing with Tyson, watching movies with my family

Favorite….song, book, movie, tv show:

  • Song – The entire Greatest Showman soundtrack…yep, I’m one of those people
  • Movie – Anything with a Disney princess in it
  • TV Show – Outlander (don’t tell my bishop)

Why do you love your job?
My job has brought so many amazing people into my life. People who have filled holes in me that I didn’t even know were there and people who have shaped me for the good. I also love typing and checking email and I get to do a lot of that. I also love seeing someone grow and change and knowing that I helped with that.

Favorite quotes:

  • Stop waiting for the right time, time isn’t waiting for you.
  • It isn’t whether you can or you can’t, its whether you will or you won’t.
  • Some things will catch your eye, others will catch your heart…pursue those.
  • If you do all you can, He will make it up to you.

Something you can’t live without
My family of course. Loud music. Silence and alone time each day. Sunshine. Lotion, chapstick, and finger nail clippers.

Who is your role model?
This little group of women who are the vision of what I someday hope to become.

Two random facts about you:
I broke both my wrists in high school when I fell into an orchestra pit. I am obsessed with buyings books that many I never intend to read. I am sometimes the laziest person on the planet, like disgustingly lazy.

Pet peeve:
How many can I list? Misophonia (google it) literally puts me over the edge. People who don’t do what they say they are going to do. People who aren’t transparent and just straightforward about what they think and feel. And snoring…its in a category all its own.

Best memory:
Its not one particular memory, but its this blur of memories of our family in our backyard or at Bear Lake. That is where we are happiest and those are “our” places. Its those moments too that I hope become my kids favorite memories as well. Also the day Tripp came home with his first 100% spelling test, because he worked so hard to get it. The day Jackson won the spelling bee at his school, and weirdly the day he lost at the next level. Both were huge accomplishments and huge learning moments for him.  Ivy’s first few months were so filled with joy and light, I will always remember the special feeling she brought to our home. She was truly the healing balm to a fragile heart after my mom died.

Best quality:
I think my never ending determination. My loyalty (probably both best and worst). My sarcasm. My desire to help others. My hard-working’ness

Worst fear:
That I won’t become the mom I want my kids to remember me as.

If you were stuck on an elevator for three hours who would you choose to be stuck with (It can’t be anyone you personally know).
Netflix. Oh my gosh I am so lame…maybe Oprah. I just love her so much and I feel like I would have so many questions about life, perspective, and work for her. Or maybe really, someone out there who I could genuinely help. If not my inner circle of people, that would probably be it. Someone who desperately needs something that I have the experience to help them with.

What is your Hogwarts house, wand, and patronous.

  • House: Hufflepuff
  • Wand: Black Walnut Wood, Unicorn Hair Core, 12 1/4″, Supple Flexibility
  • Patronous: Mastiff, Black Walnut Wood
